My dog ate a tail of a stuffed animal, what should I do

Oh that was naughty of Hector! Hopefully the tail will pass without problem, but there is always a chance it could get caught in his GI tract on the way out. I would monitor him for signs of obstruction, which include vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, lethargy, and constipation. Should you see any of those signs, I would have seen by a vet immediately. It can take up to 72 hours for this toy to pass.

    It would take quite a bit to obstruct such a big dog. As long as he is behaving normally, monitor him at home. Watch for lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, abdominal pain or straining to defecate. These are symptoms that should be addressed by your veterinarian.
