Why is my large dog's spay incision so long? Is it normal?

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female | spayed | 8 months and 7 days old | 60 lbs

My dogs spay incision is about 12 inches long, is this normal?

I see that Cheyenne is a large dog, and she could have needed a larger incision in order to safely visualize her uterus and ovaries to have them removed. Sometimes incisions can be bigger than others in order to perform the surgery. It does sound like 12 inches is a little longer than usual, but without seeing her in person or having done her surgery, I can't say for certain. You can ask your vet as to why the incision is this long, and they can explain it to you :-)
