My dog's yeast infection won't go away. Can I get fluconazole online?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My dog has a severe yeast infection. We have had steroid shots and short term oral antibiotics, but none have helped. Can I get a script for fluconazole?

Unfortunately, by law it is illegal for the experts at Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to give a prescription for any drug without seeing the animal in person first. That's because doing so requires a veterinary client patient relationship which cannot be achieved via an internet forum. In addition, the experts cannot say for certain if a specific drug is safe for your dog. You will need to take Cosmo into your vet to get a prescription for fluconazole.

I'm sorry to hear that Cosmo has a yeast infection! Unfortunately, by law a veterinarian must physically examine a pet in order to prescribe any medication - so this is not something that can be done over the internet. You will need to talk to the veterinarian who has been treating Cosmo about this issue - he/she can prescribe fluconazole or another anti-fungal medication for him, if they feel that it would be appropriate for his condition.
