My cat purrs and growls simultaneously while rubbing. Is she happy?

2 or 3 year old kitty is purring and growling simultaneously. It really doesn't appear to be a distressed purr. She's looking for love and rubbing her face on things (including me) as she does this. Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | 3 years and 1 month old | 8.5 lbs

It could be that Molly is trying to make additional sounds of happiness, but it's coming out as a growl. Cats can purr and growl at the same time, but if she is looking for love at the time and doesn't appear upset or distressed, I would be inclined to think it may be a happy noise for her, as strange as that sounds.
