Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Will giving a dog coq10 that's prone to heart disease prolong the time it takes her to get the disease? thanks!

It could prolong the time until heart disease develops, but there are no guarantees for it unfortunately. It is reported to be good for heart health, so there's certainly no harm in giving it to her to promote a health heart :-)

You are welcome, I'm glad to help you! If it were me, I wouldn't give it to her. Dogs produce their own CoQ10, and with a high quality diet, she doesn't need this supplementation. I would only give it to her if she developed heart disease, which I certainly hope she does not! Should she develop heart problems, using the CoQ10 can help her :-)
