Hi my 3.5 year old sphynx cat ate about 3 samoa Girl Scout cookies today within the past 8 hours while I was not home, I know chocolate is not good for him but do I need to take him to an emergency vet, he is acting normal sitting on my lap purring and grooming himself. Thank you!!

Oh that was naughty of Floyd! The good news is that samoa cookies do not have a lot of chocolate in them, so it's likely that he will not suffer any ill effects from it. Because it can take up to 24 hours for signs of chocolate toxicity, I would continue to monitor him for now. If you see any vomiting, diarrhea, increased heart rate, excessive urination, muscles tremors, or seizures, then I would take Floyd into the vet right away.
