I wouldn't worry about a puppy being fat, he is still growing and it's not recommended to put puppies on diets because that can be detrimental to their growth. He should be getting fed twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. Feed him according to the instructions on his food label. There's no specific weight a puppy should be at a certain age because all puppies within a breed grow differently, but fully grown, he should be between 14-18 pounds. At five months of age, he could be around 10 pounds in weight.

A male Jack Russel terrier should be between 6.4-8.2kg when fully grown. I see that Jessy is a young puppy. He is still growing, and puppies should not be a diet, nor should their weight be worried about unless they are underweight.
