Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Male | neutered | 3 years and 5 months old | 72 lbs
Hi, I have a 3 year old green cheek conure whos feathers have recently started to turn a different colour of green, and in some cases white, it has only happened within the last month or so. Their diet has stayed the same for over 3 years and we have never seen anything like this. We have had continuous hot weather throughout the month and I was wondering if weather can contribute to feather discolouration?

I haven't heard of weather causing direct changes to the feathers, but heat stress may be causing Maxy to feel a little under the weather. Poor nutrition, mites, illness, and stress may all cause the feathers to change or fall out. if possible, keeping Maxy cooler by moving him to a cooler area or providing something he can bathe in may help. If the change continues, or you begin to see any signs of illness, having your vet examine Maxy is best.
