Picking a healthy 3-week Malshi puppy: How to spot an overbite?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | unspayed | 23 days old | 2 lbs

Tomorrow, I'm going to see some Malshi puppies to adopt. Any tips for picking a well adjusted, healthy puppy (about 3 weeks old). They won't be ready to bring home for about 5 weeks. Also, I understand that they may have a problem with overbite. Can I tell if this is a problem at 3 weeks of age? (Their mom & dad are at home with them.) THANKS!

At 3weeks they would only be learning how to explore the world but should be willing to interact with their siblings, owners and strangers. There teeth should be meeting top and bottom at the front but would not be developed enough at this stage to be confirmative
