When do Persian cats shed most, and when should I groom them?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Female | spayed | 4 years and 3 months old | 4 lbs

What month/s of the year do Persian cats shed? Eg March and November. I have a 4 year old Persian cat and I would like to get her groomed just before she starts her shedding each season.

Persians shed year round, but they will shed more in spring and summer to get rid of their winter coat in preparation for the hotter weather. I would get Smooshee groomed more frequently starting in November.
