Why does my senior Rottweiler have severe skin sores and open wounds?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Rottweiler | Male | unneutered | 7 years and 5 months old | 110 lbs

My rottweiler is 9 years old, his come up with some sores on his body, some of them have now got worse and are open wounds, it looks like something is eating away at his flesh. His very poorly, not eating and not himself. He also has some rashes which look like raised red veins. We'very taken him to the vets several times and they can't figure out what's wrong with him. Does this sound like anything someone else has heard of? Please help. We hate to see him suffer.

I strongly recommend you seek referral to a dermatologist due to the severity f his signs. Blood tests would also be recommended to rule out liver disease as in certain cases this can manifest as non-healing, progressive skin problems
