Pet's info: Dog | Cocker Spaniel | Male | neutered | 6 years and 5 months old | 40.7 lbs
My 6 year old Cocker Spaniel had surgery a month ago to remove growths, after surgery he had sore eyes and vet diagnosed dry eye.He is now constantly thirsty and licks his nose and lips all the time. Also not his usual happy self. What could this be? Is it related to the surgery and anesthetic perhaps?

Increased thirst can be a sign of a number of diseases including kidney disease, diabetes, or hormonal diseases. I'd recommend seeing your veterinarian for a complete oral examination to make sure there is nothing wrong with Ziggy's mouth and nose causing the licking. You could also discuss tests that might be recommended to determine a cause for increased thirst. I wouldn't think that these changes would be related to surgery or anesthesia.
