My dog has a red spot, pimple, and black spot. Is it a tick bite?

We have a boxer mix who has a red spot with a pimple and a black spot. How do we make sure it is not a tick bite? We've never seen a tick bite in person before. Thanks! Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 2 years and 10 months old | 170 lbs

Without seeing it in person or having a picture of it, I can't say if Diesel does have a tick bite or not. Usually there is redness and swelling where the tick has bitten, and there can be crusting of the skin that occurs. To be sure it's not a tick bite, I would have Diesel seen by the vet.
