My dog has an eyelid stye. Ointment isn't working. What to do?

Pomeranian female, 3yrs.old(adopted) has some swelling on bottom outer eyelid. Seen vet this week, given an opthalmic ointment,but does not seem to do anything. Almost looks like a stye on a human. Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Female | spayed | 2 years and 1 month old | 14 lbs

Dogs can get styes like humans, and you can try pressing a warm compress on this area for five to 10 minutes at a time a couple of times a day. If Belle does have a stye, this warm compress will encourage it to drain. Should this not help with the swelling after 24 hours, then I would have Belle seen by a vet on Monday.
