My vet advised against dry food in summer heat. Is it bad for my dog?

Hi.. I have a golden retriever and she is 4 months old now.I live in India. I usually feed her Royal Canin Golden Retriever (3 servings a day , 100 grams per serve). She has been fit and growing fast as well.my vet adviced me to feed her some homemade food(chicken, rice and vegetables), since it usually gets too much hot in summer and my vet said it would be inappropriate for me to feed her dry food at that time. Can you please let me know whether feeding a dog with only dry food make her sick?

I don't want to contradict your veterinarian, as he/she may have had a good reason for giving this advice. In general, though, I can tell you that there is no problem with feeding dry food only to dogs, regardless of the weather. I would suggest talking further with your vet to clarify the reason that this was recommended.

Yes, Royal Canin for Golden Retreivers is an excellent choice to feed your pup. In general, it's fine to feed dry food only for a 4-month-old puppy - the weather shouldn't make any difference one way or the other. But if your vet has suggested feeding something different and you're not sure why, I would suggest talking with him/her to clarify why this was recommended, since your vet may have a good reason for suggesting this.
