My new chinchilla won't eat food, only hay, and has a bald spot?

My chinchilla doesn't seem to be eating much, but his behavior seems fine. I've had him for about two weeks. He is pooping just fine and drinking water, but not much food. He would eat hay and eat some treats I'd give him but he doesn't seem to make a dent in the food. Also, he has a bald spot near his nose, he ran into the cage pretty hard and then now there is a bald spot. Pet's info: Exotic | Unknown - Exotic | Male

If he is eating a lot of hay, it's quite normal for him not to eat much of other things, but maybe he has some sort of teeth problem and might need to be looked at by a vet. if the bald patches are due to him running into the cage then it will grow back eventually.
