What to feed a 1-month-old German Shepherd puppy & prevent hip dysplasia?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I have adopted a german shepherd puppy which is 1 month old what should I feed him and in what durations, also any supplements which I can give him now to avoid joint problems in future like hip dysplasia because I have a doubt his father was suffering from hip dysplasia.

You should feed him puppy replacer milk until the age of 6-8 months, you can start some wet puppy food as well in about a week from now. he needs to eat 4-6 times a day at the moment. you don't need to give him any supplements as non of those have been proven to prevent hip dysplasia.
