How to adopt out baby rabbits without causing them stress or sickness?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | 1 year old

So Nadine recently gave birth and the kits are nearly one month old. I just want to know how can I give the kits away to different owners without stressing them? They have been together since birth and I know that they will be stressed once they have one sibling missing. So how can they their separate ways without them being sick?

Ideally, Nadine's kits should stay with her until at least 8 weeks of age. The can be weaned as early as 6 weeks if necessary. If you still have them at 10 weeks of age, separate males from females to prevent breeding. The kits will not be stressed as their littermates are adopted.
