My dog is sick: vomiting, diarrhea, lethargic. Is it a blockage?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 11 months and 4 days old | 14 lbs

My dog is having small poops/diarrhea. Two days ago, she barfed 7 times in a row. Afterward, she became was normal- active and played. Today she had another fit and puked four times in a row. im scared she might have a partial blockage bc she puked and pooped up some nuts a week before. right now shes a little lethargic but doesn't seem to be in pain. she has a vet visit on saturday but i just wanted some advice. thanks!

Poor Sammi! She does sound like she isn't feeling well at all, and it is possible that she could have a partial blockage if she got into some nuts especially if they had shells on them. Other causes include eating something rotten or a GI illness. Given she has been so sick for a couple of days now, I would see if you can get her into your vet tomorrow instead of Saturday. I would also withhold food for the next 24 hours, and then try a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day. Have her seen as soon as possible by your vet.
