This reverse sneezing can be caused by irritation or inflammation of the nasal passages. It can be a way for a dog to remove foreign particles such as dust, irritants, or allergens from the upper airways. It can also be caused by excitement. I would have Ace seen by a vet for this since it has been occurring more frequently lately. He may benefit from some antihistamines, which the vet can prescribe.

It could be caused by an allergy or some type of irritation in her throat or nose. Have your vet to take a look at it to determine if treatment is needed. An antihistamine or anti-inflammatory may help and your vet can prescribe.

Reverse sneezing can be from allergies or even an upper respiratory infection. If she is excessively doing this to make her vomit, I would recommend bringing her to a veterinarian to have evaluated. I would video the episode to show your veterinarian. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. Reverse sneezing can be caused by irritation or foreign material at the back of the throat. If the reverse sneezing has calmed down and is lessening I would monitor for another 12-24 hours. If it does not entirely resolve or it worsens, I would recommend having Teddy examined by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
