My dog carried sago palm inside. Is it poisonous if not chewed?

Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Pinscher | Female | unspayed | 9 months and 13 days old | 11 lbs

our dog brought in a dead sago palm branch that was lying on the ground outside in the house. the branch or leaves were not chewed on and their were no bite marks she just carried in her mouth from outside in our yard to inside our house

As long as there are no bite marks, and the branch and leaves have not been chewed on, Gabby should be ok. The leaves are the poisonous part of the plant, and it's most important she didn't chew on any of them or ingest them. I would rinse her mouth out with water to be safe, however. If she did ingest any part of the plant, you will see acute GI signs (vomiting, drooling, diarrhea, anorexia) within 15 minutes to several hours afterwards. Should you see any of those signs, take Gabby into a vet immediately.
