If Tasha just started having diarrhea, I can give you a home remedy to try before having to take her into the vet. This diarrhea could be caused by GI illness, eating something rotten, a foreign body, or even something more serious like cancer in a senior dog. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the diarrhea continues on the bland diet, she starts vomiting food, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away.

If this is the first time you are seeing diarrhea, I would continue to watch it and see what happens. Common causes of diarrhea in dogs include food intolerance, food allergies, intestinal parasites, dietary indiscretion, bacterial or viral infection, stress colitis, among others. Take away Jay-Jay's food for 12 hours, but leave plenty of fresh water. If the diarrhea continues, she may need to be checked out by a vet to see what is going on. If there is no more diarrhea, then you can offer her small amount of her normal dog food, or something that is easy on the digestive tract such as scrambled eggs (not cooked in oil), boiled chicken breast, or cooked white rice. If she is not interested in these types of treats, she should be checked out by a vet for the inappetence.

Diarrhea can have many causes. It is basically a problem with the stomach and intestines caused by a food over sensitivity, eating something that does not agree with the dog, intestinal parasites, bacterial infection, viral infection, the weather, food change, stress, etc. I would fast Barney for 12 to 24 hours and then put him on bland food for 2 days, such as boiled white rice and boiled white boneless chicken meat, fed in small quantities over several feeds and then transition back to his regular food slowly over a few days. If this does not clear up the diarrhea, or if he gets lethargic, he needs to see a veterinarian for an exam as there may be something more serious such as an infection going on.

He might have eaten something spoiled that is causing this, but at his age it could also be a serious disease. withhold food for 12 hours then offer him boiled boneless chicken and rice every 6 hours in small portions. if he is eating and not vomiting, continue with this diet for 2 days. After 2 days, you can put him back gradually on his normal food. If the diarrhea does not stop, take him to the vet to get treatment.
