How much of my dog's diet can be treats, chews, and supplements?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Is it ok that 15% of my dogs diet is supplements, treats and chews? I give 1/4 tsp of oil per day, a joint pill, probiotics and one bully stick per week. I also started giving my dog two biscuits per day. They are 12 calories each. I counted everything and she's getting about 310-324 calories per day. This is within the range she has been getting for a while. I also stared weighing her food and she lost about .5 pound which is nice. is this ok? I just swapped out the carrots for The biscuits.

No more than 10% of the dog's total daily calories should come from treats. Those two biscuits equal around 7% perfect of her daily calories, which is perfect! It's fine that 15% of her diet is the supplements, treats, and chews, keep up the good work!
