My diabetic dog is twitching and stumbling. Is it too much insulin?

my 10 year old chicuchua with diabetise on 5mg twice a day for two months now is recently occationaly twitching and having loss of motor skills such as her feet push out in front of her and she stumbles around, cant go up or down steps etc. is this a result of too much insulin?? how immediate does she need to be seen . she seems ok over all .

I'm sorry your dog isn't doing well at the moment! It's certainly not normal that she is having a loss of motor skills, and a lack of coordination can be caused by too much insulin. I recommend she sees a vet immediately for this. Do not adult her insulin dosage under recommended by a vet, as you could accidentally do great harm to her. The vet can adjust her dosage if needed.
