My 6-week-old puppy has a spreading ear bump. Should I see a vet now?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | unneutered | 1 month and 16 days old

My puppy has a crusty/bumpy/yellowish bump forming on the edge of her left ear. I want to say its getting a bit bigger every day. Not size wise, but in width-kind of spreading. Shes 6 weeks and has her 1st vet appointment in 2 more weeks... im just not sure if itll get even worse by then! Ive been applying aloe vera to it but im not sure that its helping. It doesnt seem to bother her much... help!?

I wouldn't keep applying aloe vera to this bump on Vixi's ear, it won't make it any better. This bump could be a cyst or a benign tumor, and if it keeps getting bigger, I would have her seen by a vet sooner than two weeks to have it examined and diagnosed. If it is a cyst, it will need to be drained sterilely, and it may need to be removed surgically to keep it from recurring.
