My puppy eats constantly but won't gain weight. What's wrong?

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | unspayed | 5 months and 5 days old | 1lb

My diva eats and eats but does not gain weight I have tried differnt foods with gainers and ones that are suppose to help her but she still does not gain what am I doing wrong

We would expect a five month old puppy to eat a lot in order to grow. However, if you feel Diva is eating more than she should and still not gaining weight, this could be a sign of intestinal worms. You should have Diva tested for worms and treated if necessary. If that is not the problem, I would suggest giving her smaller meals more frequently.

    Check the bag of food and make sure you are feeding the recommended daily amount of food. Every food is different so anytime you switch, you need to double check. Also, it changes as she grows. Another thing to rule out would be intestinal parasites. These can take the nutrients your puppy needs. I recommend having your vet check a poop sample. These parasites are microscopic so you won't see them with the naked eye. If positive, they will send you home with a dewormer.
