What's the best age to neuter my bunny, and is there an age limit?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Male | unneutered

Is there an age limit to when I can't neuter my bunny anymore, or does the age not matter?

Generally after a rabbit is six years old, the anesthetic and surgery become more risky, so I wouldn't do it then. If Gwieth Gray is over two years old, I'd recommend having a health check and blood work done before having neutering done. He should be neutered around 3.5 months of age, when his testicles have descended.

Great questions! 1. Smokee can be neutered when his testicles descend, which is around 3.5 months of age. 2. Ouch, poor bunny! You can try cleaning the wound with warm water and antiseptic soap, but it would best to have him seen by a vet for it in case it needs stitches to close.
