What heartworm prevention and early care for my 3-month-old puppy?

My pom puppy is 3 months old...what type of heartworm prevantive i can give him?...how can i take care of my puppy in advance?

Heartgard and Sentinel are both good options for heartworm prevention - just make sure to check the minimum weight requirements, since I'm not sure how much your puppy weighs. He will also need to be vaccinated against distemper, parvo, and other serious illnesses that are common in puppies, and should also be dewormed if this hasn't been done yet. You should be able to make an appointment with your local vet to have all of these things done - the vet can also prescribe an appropriate heartworm prevention for your pup at that time :)
