My dog's leg scab peeled off, leaving a bald spot. Is it serious?

My dog ( pit bull mix) has a scab on his legs and it peeled off leaving a bald spot. Is that okay? Was the scab most likely from an injury or is it something more serious ? The scab didn't seem to bother him. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 55 lbs

It could be from an injury and you could clean it with a wound cleaner and monitor the area. If the lesion persists or you notice any redness, discharge or swelling than have your vet examine him. It could be an infection, allergic dermatitis, mites, ringworm, etc and your vet can prescribe medications to treat, depending on the cause.
