i have a 10 week old maltese x pug puppy, i have had him almost a week, yesterday i noticed a lump on his lower back above his left leg, it wasnt there a few days ago when he had a vet check. it feels quite soft and not attached to his body if that makes sence. do puppies get fatty lumps over night or is it something more serious? his still eating and playing normal. he had his next needles in 3 weeks also

No puppies don't get fatty lumps like this overnight, so it's more likely a cyst or an abscess on Franko. A cyst and an abscess are not serious, but I would still have it checked out by a vet before his next round of vaccines. The vet can do a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the lump to get a sample of it's cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. Once the cause of the lump is diagnosed, the vet can discuss treatment options.
