Why is my senior dog spinning, stumbling, and losing balance?

My 10 year old dog started spinning in circles around Christmas time, but she still was eating and drinking, so we thought she was just anxious. Today her balance is off, she keeps lifting her left paws and stumbling every now and then. What could this be? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female | spayed | 94 lbs

Since it has been happening for some time and she has recently developed new symptoms, Emma should be examined by your veterinarian. A physical exam and bloodwork (CBC, chemistry/thyroid panels, urinalysis) may diagnose metabolic or neurologic issues, especially in a senior pet. Severe, chronic ear infections may also affect balance.
