My senior dog wets the bed. What causes dog incontinence?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I Have A Boxer, He Is Very Strong And Healthy, But Is 9 1-2 Years Old. When He Is Sleeping He Will Pea. It Only Happens A Few Times A Week. Are There Other Causes For That Other Than Just Being Old. Thank You

It sounds like your dog is suffering from incontinence. This can be caused by infection, stress, excessive thirst, problems with the spinal cord, or a weakened bladder. I would have him seen by a vet for this problem. There are medications that can be given to him to treat this problem depending on the cause of the incontinence. The vet can diagnose the cause of the incontinence, and can treat him for it.
