Why is my long-haired cat hacking but no hairball comes out?

My cat hacks like she is trying to get a hairball out but nothing comes out. It doesn't happen everyday but it's been happening a lot more recently. She is a long haired siamese. Pet's info: Cat | Ragdoll | Female | spayed | 7 lbs

If Jasmine is a long haired cat, then likely she does have problem with hairballs and she is trying to get them out. I recommend feeding her a hairball formulated food to see if that helps, and you can groom her every day to cut down on the amount of excess fur she will shed.
