Why is my senior toy poodle losing hair and going bald on ears?

I have a toy poodle who is approx 17 years old. Recently started losing hair on her ears. Both are now bald and this started about 1-2 weeks ago. Is this normal? Pet's info: Dog | Toy Poodle | Female | unspayed | 10 lbs
