Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund | Female | spayed | 6 years and 3 months old
My 6 year Dashuhand eats the string off our throw blankets and it comes out in her stools. Her stools are very runny and bloody. My Vet keeps trying different food to put her on which is Science Diet which I do not care for. He has done a complete blood work up and everything is good except she was a little low on her B vitamins. He gave her B12 shots but that did not work. He put her on antibiotics and that worked for awhile but it keeps coming back. Can the string have damaged her intestines?

Yes, the strings can damage Franny's intestines, and it can cause a linear foreign body. It could cause her to have runny and bloody stools if there is one, and I do recommend having x-rays done on Franny to see if she does have a linear foreign body. If she does have one, she will need surgery to remove it. I would make sure that she has no access whatsoever to the strings from the throw blanket in the future.
