My dog ate cayenne pepper and is reverse sneezing. What should I do?

This morning, I dropped some cayenne pepper on the floor and my dog got into a small amount of it. I noticed about 30 minutes later that his snout was swollen in a few spots. I gave him one and a half Benadryl 25 mg tablets. The swelling went down but now he has been reverse sneezing. It has happened about 6 times and is usually separated by 15 minutes. What do I need to do? He has never done this before. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 6 months and 20 days old | 36 lbs

Cayenne pepper is irritating to dogs, and it could be that Rico is reverse sneezing in response to sniffing some in his nose. I would monitor him for now, and if the swelling returns or the reverse sneezing continues, I would take him into the vet right away for treatment.
