This is probably not going to be resolved with any type of home remedy unfortunately. A dry cough could be caused by kennel cough, laryngeal disease, heartworm disease, or a primary lung disease. Finding out the cause of the cough is key to knowing what kind of treatment Blu needs. Unfortuantely there isn't just one drug to treat for general cough in dogs. If Blu has been exposed to other pets and has sort of a dry goose honking cough, then a short course of antibiotics can be tried for a suspected kennel cough. If he does not respond to that, then radiographs of his chest may be needed to find out the underlying cause so that treatment options can be explored. I understand that your are having financial restraints. Disability can qualify you for financial assistance. Try these resources and hopefully you can find one that will help you get Blu the care he needs. carecredit.com www.youcaring.com GiveForward  God's Creatures Ministry Harley’s Hope Foundation Some groups help with specific disease, such as Canine Cancer Awareness, The Magic Bullet Fund, Helping Harley Fund, and Muffin Diabetes Fund.
The Pet Fund and Redrover.org are great sources for help to care for you I wish Blu a speedy recovery from his illness. Take care!
