Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Male | unneutered | 8 years and 4 months old | 1lb
My cockatiels fought last night. One of them got a hole on his beak, right where the beak meets the nose. He doesn't seem to be bothered by it but it got filled with very dark (like poop) discharge by morning. The discharge then dried. I don't know what to do. Should I try to clean it? Will the beak ever heal completely? He seems fine and sings and eats. What should I do?

Ideally, Doodlee should be examined by your veterinarian or an avian veterinarian. A physical exam will be required to assess any beak injury and to administer treatment if indicated. Monitor him for lethargy, loss of appetite or difficulty eating. Consider separating the birds until Doodlee is examined and healed. Do not attempt to clean it unless directed by your vet.
