I suspect my dog ate a used tampon but didn't actually see him do it, it just went missing. This was 24hours ago. He's not showing any signs of pain and is pooing and eating normally. Should I be worried?

Oh good. If he is not showing any signs of pain after 24 hrs has elapsed, then chances are he is fine. Continue to monitor Sam for signs of an intestinal obstruction (excessive vomiting- even water, severe abdominal pain; lack of appetite and vomiting) for an additional 24 hrs just to be certain that he's ok. Most symptoms however develop within the 1st 24 hrs, so so far so good. : )

Since it's been 9 hours since Porter ate the tampons, it is too late to induce vomiting. I'm glad to hear that he's still eating, drinking, and acting normally! It's actually a good thing that he ate used rather than new tampons since they've already expanded. At this point, your best bet is to closely monitor Porter at home for signs of an intestinal obstruction for the next week. These signs include vomiting, lethargy, a loss of appetite, and occasionally diarrhea. If you notice anything abnormal, Porter will need to go to a vet immediately for an exam, abdominal x-rays, an likely for surgery to remove the tampons. Continue to monitor his stool for the next week to be sure that all tampons have passed. I hope this helps and that all goes well!

Unfortunately, tampons can cause an obstruction in the intestines. Since Negan vomited and the tampon was not in the vomit, then we have to suspect that the tampon has passed into the intestines. Sometimes they will be able to pass all the way through the intestines in larger dogs, but sometimes they can become stuck. You will need to closely monitor Negan. If he stops eating, starts vomiting or does not seem to feel well, he needs to see a veterinarian immediately. Good luck! I hope that was helpful and that Negan is fine.
