My dog has bloody, mucousy stool. Vet closed. What can I do?

Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund | Female | unspayed | 6 months and 12 days old

Hello my dachshund nylah had some mucus type susbstance and blood in her stool. What actions should I take. Our vet office is closed today. Will she make it until tomorrow? Is there something I can give her for some relief? She doesn't seem to be in pain.

She could have a parasite or colitis from something that she ate. If she is otherwise acting ok with no vomiting than you could feed her a bland diet of boiled chicken and white rice and see if that helps. You could also add a probiotic to her diet, like Fortiflora or Proviable. If it continues than have your vet check a stool sample for parasites.
