Why is my Great Pyrenees limping, not bearing weight, yet feels no pain?

Pet's info: Dog | Great Pyrenees | Male | neutered | 100 lbs

My great pyrenees is limping bad ( hardley puts any weight on leg) but he let's me mash all over his leg and move his joints. And also mash on paw with out him show pain. What's wrong

If he is experiencing hindlimb lameness, it is most likely his knee or hip. The most common cause of lameness we see in large breeds is stifle injury secondary to a crucuate ligament tear or degenerative joint disease of the hips. You should have him evaluated by your veterinarian to determine the underlying cause and discuss treatment plan.

    Poor Clyde! He really needs to be examined by a vet to determine the cause. He could have a strain/sprain, ligament tear (especially if it is a rear leg), fracture, arthritis, infection, etc. Your vet can do an orthopedic examination to localize the pain and then take an x-ray, if needed, to help diagnose and treat. He may just need an anti-inflammatory and a pain medication to treat.
