Pet's info: Dog | Jack Russell Terrier | Female | spayed | 3 years and 3 months old | 4.8 lbs
My 3 year old J/Russel female dog (very small) has develop severe hepatic fibrosis of the liver. The ultrascan said "consider chronic hepatotoxicity or idiopathic congenital hepatic fibrosis". She has a very small liver. Portal vein cannot be visualised due to overlying gas. She has excessive thirst and urinate excessive. She still eats well and is still active. She is given Milk thistle, ursosan tablets & hepatonic tonic. What can I do to reverse the damages or stop the process? Lynette

The condition of her liver does not sound good i'm afraid, in many cases the damage is irreversible. you are giving her almost all you can at the moment, the only thing i would consider to add is a prescription diet called "hepatic" from Royal Canin.
