My puppy's poop has a fibrous mass. Is it from chewing or concerning?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Havanese | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 3 days old

My puppy is 9 weeks old and has normal bowel movements- usually 3-4 a day. When I was cleaning up after him this evening I noticed a fibrous mass in his poop. If he continues to have regular bowel movements should I worry about it? Or is it just him being a puppy and chewing on things?

It is possible that this fibrous mass is from Nox chewing on things. If he continues to have normal bowel movements, I wouldn't worry about it, but I would keep an eye on him chewing on things and make sure he doesn't get ahold of anything that he can eat. If his poop continuous to have these fibrous masses in them, then I would have him seen by a vet.
