What is this dry scratch mark on my cat's belly near her nipple?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | 4 years and 9 months old | 14 lbs

My cat has scratch mark on her belly around a lower not upper nipple. The area is dry and we thought the other cat had scratched her at play or she had scratched herself. It's been a little over a week. The nipple is a little darker than the others and dry. I also thought of fungal infection. It doesn't seem to hurt as such but it may be tender as she pushes me away when I touch it. The mark has not grown significantly over the week. What do you think? Thank you.

First of all i do not know if she is spayed, if she isn't it could be a first sign of mammary gland tumor and it needs to be checked by a vet. if she is spayed it's probably a skin issue, either an allergy, bacterial or fungal infection.
