Puppy home vaccines: Is my husky safe for the dog park at 8 weeks?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 12 days old | 20 lbs

We got a Siberian huskey 3 weeks ago, at 8 weeks old. She had already been dewormed and was given a 3 shot series at home. ( at 6 weeks, and 7 week, 8 weeks) This seems to young to have all her shots and I wanted to know if I should give her a tieter at week 12 or if the immunization she has now is enough before I take her to a dog park. She has been very healthy and upbeat thus far, just looking for peace of mind or advise! Thank You

Vaccines are typically given at 4 week intervals, not 1 week intervals. Stella should be vaccinated at 8, 12 and 16 weeks of age. She should have a complete physical exam prior to ensure she is healthy enough for vaccines. Core vaccines include the distemper/parvovirus combination vaccine and a rabies vaccine given after 12 weeks of age. Stella is likely not adequately protected following your vaccine protocol and should not be exposed to other dogs, especially dogs of unknown vaccine status.
