What to do if my dog's hot spot is spreading and he's depressed?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | unneutered | 6 years old | 40 lbs

My dogoal buster got a spot that looked like a hot spot around August or September. We washed it and put medicine on it and it looked better. Then it got worse and is now spreading. It is now on his genitalia. He isn't aggressive he just seems depressed.

Poor Buster! It sounds like he has a skin infection or allergic dermatitis and may need an antibiotic, anti-histamine, and/or an anti-inflammatory. Have him examined by a vet to determine the cause and prescribe medications to treat.
