My dog limps after tricks, but shows no pain. What should I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Toy Poodle | Female | unspayed

My dog is limping.I noticed when i was doing tricks with her where i made her stand on 2 legs. She could stand but was awkwardly leaning to one side.I gently pressed around the weak leg and stretched slowly. She didn't show any signs of pain.No whinning or struggling just slight discomfort. This is the first time this has happened and it happened a while after i walked her.May i know the problem and how i can help her?

She may have injured a muscle, tendon or ligament. Dogs typically are reluctant to show pain, even if they are in considerable discomfort. I would keep her quiet for a few days, with no tricks. If she does not improve, a visit to the vet is in order. In the meantime, please do not give her any human pain medicine, as most are toxic to dogs.
