My senior cat stopped eating wet food, but eats dry. Should I worry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My 16 year old cat , Persian breed, has stopped eating her vet food. She is eating her dry cat food, fish, chicken etc . It's strange cause she's been eating wet food ( Whiskas) for years. She seems fine . She is generally fussy n demanding. Want to know if I should be concerned

If she is generally fussy, I wouldn't be too concerned that she has stopped eating her wet food as long as she's eating her dry cat food. It's very important that she eats, and it may be that if you've given her a different flavor of Whiskas, she simply doesn't like it and doesn't want to eat it. If she does stop eating food altogether, then I would be worried and I would have her seen by a vet.
