Hello. My dog was exposed to kennel cough and has been prescribed cough medicine and an antibiotic. The cough medicine is hydrocodone. I gave him a dose when I first got home about 6 PM. He still coughing so much! Is it OK to give another dose before bed? Instructions are to give him two times a day

No, I would not give Big Daddy another dose. When instructions say to give the medication twice a day, that means it should be given 12 hours apart. Giving him another dose now isn't safe. You can try using a humidifier or bringing Big Daddy into the bathroom with the door closed while you take a hot shower - the steam and humidity help to break up congestion and temporarily relieve symptoms associated with kennel cough. It's safe to give him another dose of the medication at 6am.
