My dog died during anesthesia. Why wasn't her heart disease found?

Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Female | spayed | 8 years and 6 months old

My dog was having an X-ray for a collapsed trachea she was put under anesthectic and crashed under it as she had heart disease and the vet didn't realise she had heart disease she was a 9 years Pomeranian old why was heart disease not detected she died a few hours later I just didn't expect her to die from a routine X-ray please can you help answer my query as my vet hasn't and I'm so heartbroken Thank you

I am so very sorry you lost Honey so suddenly! Without having seen her in person, I can only give my best guess, unfortunately. It could be that signs of heart disease were subtle and weren't detected on the pre-anesthetic exam (such as a murmur), and that's why it was missed. I wish I could give you a more definite answer, and I do recommend following up with the vet to get an answer to your question. Please accept my condolences for your loss :-(
